Look. It’s me.

Hello.

I noticed early in my life that I was always thinking about situations as if they were an edited film. Rather than dance at a concert, I would just stand still thinking about how to cut a video to the song. I would feel the rhythm, but it would only be in my head and not demonstrated anywhere physically by my body. Friends thought this was weird, but I guess years of viewing movies and television transformed my brain to think this way, and so editing is always where I’ve felt comfortable.

I enjoy anything visually or audibly stimulating and am one of those people who considers almost everything an art form or a creative outlet. I design motion graphics and I’m a hobby photographer who will spend hours on a single photo. I also majored in visual effects at the Savannah College of Art and Design. On top of that, I bought a guitar in 2009. I don’t know how to play it, but it looks nice in my office and is good for hiding wires.

Outside of imagery or sound, I like teaching my 5 year old how to be a video game master and forcing myself to go to the gym to throw kettlebells around. I’m also married to the World’s Most Attractive Woman™ and dedicate a lot of my time to making sure that keeps working.

How I work:

My NLE of choice is currently DaVinci Resolve. This thing is amazing. I feel like the only limit within it is myself. I don’t think I’ve run into something it can’t do yet. Editing is editing no matter the package. The software just determines how quickly you can do it. I’m also fluent in Final Cut Pro X, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Lightroom.

When it comes to photography, I use to shoot on a Canon T2i, but have now upgraded to a Sony A7iii. This thing feels like cheat mode. It’s like it does all of the work for me and I can’t do anything wrong anymore. Unless the photo is bad. That’s definitely the cameras fault and not mine.

I currently work at Generation Media (genmedia.us I made the website!) as Post Supervisor and Senior Editor. I enjoy telling everyone else that their work is bad and they should do what I say because I’m really smart. And old. I’m old now. There’s grey hairs in my beard.

Now I’m the one on the left.
